Barcelona continues to cruise towards the 2017/2018 La Liga title with a victory early this afternoon. The Catalan Giants beat fierce rivals Real Madrid 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Real Madrid returning from a club world cup triumph needed a win to keep the chase on Valverde’s men.



After a scoreless first half, Barcelona struck first through Luis Suarez after a fine teamwork move. Real went down to ten men after Carvajal was sent off for handling the ball in the box. Lionel Messi did not disappoint with a well-taken penalty past Keylor Navas. Lionel Messi went on to give an assist setting Aleix Vidal for the third goal in stoppage time.


Courtois To Become Highest Paid Goalkeeper In The World

Chelsea shot-stopper, Thibaut Courtois has been offered a new contract worth more than 200,000 pounds a week. The deal currently on the table of the Belgian will see him surpass Manchester United’s goalkeeper as the world’s highest-paid goalkeeper. These also include add-on and bonuses to the mouthwatering deal.

The premier league champions are believing that 25 years old Belgian will sign the new contract despite huge interest from Real Madrid. The current deal runs out at the end of next season will be extended until 2023. Thibaut Courtois has been a long-term target of Real Madrid but the La Liga champions appear likely to sign Athletico Bilbao Keeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga in January.
